How to sign a PDF online
- Drop your PDF. Every page appears so you can see where to sign.
- Create your signature: draw it with a mouse or finger, type your name in a handwriting style, or upload a picture of it.
- Choose Signature, Initials, Date, Text or Tick, then click the page where it should go. Drag it to move it and drag a corner to resize it.
- Click Sign PDF and download. Use "All pages" to put initials on every page in one click.
Questions
Is this a legally valid signature?
It places a visible signature on the page, which is what most contracts, forms and letters need and is accepted in many countries for everyday documents. It is not a certificate-based digital signature. If a law, a bank or a government office asks for a qualified or certified e-signature, use their own service.
Is my document or signature uploaded?
No. The PDF is opened and signed inside your browser tab. Your signature is drawn on your own screen and never sent anywhere.
Can I sign on my phone?
Yes. Draw with your finger, or type your name. Tap Signature and then tap the page where it should go. Drag it with your finger and use the corner dots to resize.
Can I save my signature for next time?
Yes, if you tick "Remember on this device". It is kept only in this browser, never on our servers, and you can remove it with one click.
How do I put initials on every page?
Create your initials, place them on the first page, then press "All pages" on the small bar that appears above them.
Can I add the date or some text?
Yes. Use Date for today's date in the style you choose, or Text for anything else, like a name, an address or "Approved". Type straight into the little box above the item to change the words.
Can I remove a signature after placing it?
Yes. Click it and press the bin button, or press Delete. Nothing is final until you click Sign PDF.
Can I password-protect the signed file?
Yes. Switch on "Password-protect" and the result is encrypted with AES-256. It is off by default.
